About this book

Language: German

Indicator plants (Zeigerpflanz in German) refers to species that indicate the presence of specific plant communities or certain environmental factors in an area. From the presence of such plants one can draw conclusions about the character and the importance of a particular habitat. However, these indicator plants first of all need to be recognized and identified themselves! This book helps in doing so. Separated according to habitat types, nearly 600 distinctive species are introduced with a photo and a brief description, as well as the factors that these plants indicate. An indispensable tool for all botanists, appraisers, surveyors and land conservation and environmental planning workers.
