About this book

Language: Russian, with bilingual summary in English and Russian

Extensive data on the vascular plant flora of the Vladimir region, Russia, collected by grid mapping, were published earlier by the author in an earlier book. The current book contains the analytical part of the study. It contains a general overview of the method of grid mapping flora and describes the materials and methods of the research, carried out in the Vladimir region. Indicators of the wealth of the flora at different scales of identification are discussed in-depth, and an analysis of the distribution of common and rare species is included. Based on the analysis of individual plant distribution, regional chorotypes of species are given for the Vladimir region. This is a spatial analysis of flora, including the analysis of taxonomic, ecological, and cenotic groups, as opposed to the "traditional" analysis of flora, which is widely used in the Soviet literature. The results of experimental observations in Central Meshchora are included. The book is designed to introduce domestic readers to a broad methodological apparatus for the analysis grid chorologic data presented in the modern world literature, and, using the example of the Vladimir area, to consider in detail the advantages and disadvantages of this method. The book contains a checklist of the flora of the Vladimir region, numbering 1 398 species of vascular plants as of the beginning of 2014.
