About this book

Internationally renowned physicist Christophe Galfard takes us on a wonder-filled journey through the past, present and future of the universe – a journey into scientific fact. The Universe in Your Hand is a popular science book that aims to explain Quantum Mechanics, General Relativity, String Theory and Parallel Realities using storytelling instead of graphs and equations. It transports us to the surface of our dying Sun, flies us to distant galaxies and puts us into the deathly grip of a Black Hole, and explains the mysteries of physics in language that will leave no reader behind.

An instant classic that does for astrophysics what Sophie's World did for philosophy, this is a book that will make readers understand, for the very first time, the mind-bending truths that underpin modern science; and along the way looks deep into questions about our position within the universe, the beginning of time and the future of humanity.
