About this book

Language: French

For over twelve years Jérôme Bourjea and Hendrik Sauvignet roamed the Indian Ocean to study sea turtles.

Their research led them to many sites frequented by these animals, some of which are difficult to reach or even forbidden to public access. Beaches of Europe, the Glorioso Islands, the Comoros and Mozambique, many places either unknown are already playing an important role in the survival of these large oceanic migrators.

Through their photographs, the authors tell us of the life of these emblematic animals, and their perilous journeys: their predators are legion and man catch them in large numbers, intentionally or not.

The adventure remains magic and invites to dreams. Echoing beautiful meetings, Jerome and Hendrik have left the floor to twelve personalities from around the world who contribute essays to the book. These men and women, some of whom are marine turtle specialist, relate moving and unusual observations of these fragile species.
