About this book

Language: Italian

A guide to the recognition and study of dragonflies and damselflies in Italy. The book gives detailed guidance and simple consultation, and is suitable for both beginners and for an audience of more experienced users who want to deepen their knowledge of the order Odonata. The book contains images and photographs of all the Italian species with descriptions of anatomy, biology, habitat, behavior, distribution and the time of flight. The aim is to allow, through direct observation or with binoculars and cameras, the recognition in the field of different dragon- and damselflies in the area. Text and photos, showing the main characters to be observed, provide the user with a useful tool for the determination of all the males and the females without the need to catch them. The book also avoids the inclusion of many detailed anatomical drawings which are only useful for the determination of specimens caught in-situ and observed at high magnifications.
