About this book

Language: Czech

Did life originate on Earth's surface, in the depths of the oceans, or in the earth's crust? Or is possible that life forms, or at least the building blocks of life have an extraterrestrial origin? The core of this book is the story of the evolution of genetic information, from the first replicating molecules, probably based on RNA, through formation of the genetic code, to the formation of DNA molecules, the first cell, and the subsequent development of bacteria, animals and plants. Organisms and their genetic information have developed to an ever higher complexity. The path reach all the way to man, who can now look back over his story and blueprints. The human genome was read and there will be a time when each of us can read their own genome. What new possibilities does the era of genomics bring? Are we ready for them? After all, we can not only read genomes, but have also started to construct them. What does DNA reveal to us, and what makes us human?
