About this book

Language: Czech

The age-old human desire to fly has, over a century, led to incredible progress in the field of aviation. While inventors originally sought inspiration in bird flight, today this interest has shifted to the realm of insects, due to the widespread application of micro aircraft.

Jak Létají is a summary of the findings the reader needs in order to understand the mystery of the flight of birds, bats and insects. It describes the structure of the moving wings and their function as a source of lift and thrust. Without dealing with unnecessary details it gives basic concepts of the flight of living creatures, especially in terms of aerodynamics of flight. A more detailed explanation of certain aerodynamics terms is included in appendices, so that it may facilitate understanding and interpretation for readers from other disciplines.
