About this book

Language: Russian

This monograph examines the results of a complex research expedition mounted by the Arkhangelsk Center SBI and the Russian Geographical Society in the summer of 2014 on the Kanin Peninsula, a large peninsula in Nenets Autonomous Okrug, northwestern Russia. The hydrological and hydrochemical parameters of the mouths of the little-known (estuarine) rivers Chizh and Chёsha and their aquatic and semi-aquatic plant communities, and the fish- and avifauna are described. Descriptions of many elements of estuarine ecosystems in the study area are given for the first time for the Kanin Peninsula. Recommendations for the protection of rare plant communities are included.
