Although several books on hazardous marine animals are available, a comprehensive book on the stingrays of the world is still wanting. Stingrays of the World provides details on different stingray families, namely Potamotrygonidae, Dasyatidae, Gymnuridae, Myliobatidae, Urolophidae, Hexatrygonidae and Plesiobatidae, including common name, geographical distribution, conservation, importance to humans, danger to humans, biological characteristics, food habits, reproduction, predators, and parasites. Over 150 species from the different stingray families are discussed with suitable illustrations, and information is provided regarding stingray injuries and their management and treatment.
