The present compendium attempts to provide a critical review of Indian Tenuipalpid mites consolidating the available information both in basic and applied aspects to provide a base line data of this group and highlight the gaps. A total of 102 species belonging to 15 genera have been dealt with giving for each species synonymies, descriptions, illustrations, host range, distribution, type locality, repository and wherever possible some remarks about their economic importance. In addition, diagonosis of families and genera, general morphological charecters on which the classifications are based, type data, key to the genera and species for all the taxa, etc., have also been provided. Finally, zoogeographical distribution of genera and species, statewise distribution of species, host mite index and a chapter on economic importance of this group have also been included. This is the first comprehensive account of Indian Tenuipalpid mites collating all the available information in this group.
