About this book

Language: Spanish

This book is the result of a period of observation and study of the succulent genera Aeonium, Aichryson and Monanthes. Originating in the Macaronesian archipelago, its distribution is relegated almost exclusively to the Canary Islands, where a total of 53 species and nearly a hundred infraspecific taxa (including hybrids) grow. The main objective of the book has been to collect all the scattered information on these species, from historical time to the impact produced by current molecular studies. The book treats ecological, bioclimatic, physiological and evolutionary information of these plants, and in a systematic context the book provides identification keys, descriptions, illustrations and distribution maps. Also included are unpublished data on cultivation and horticultural potential of all species and their natural hybrids.
