About this book

Language: Spanish

This work offers new and extraordinary images of European eagles, with detailed and updated biological information that will allow the reader to know them better in every respect. The authors also hope to increase the number of people charmed by these birds, and therefore willing to protect them, proposing that they enjoy their beauty through observation or nature photography. The raptors are the real bulwark of Spain's wildlife and their conservation depends on everyone. The more we know, the more they will attract us, and the more we will fight to defend them. The pages of this book contain spectacular moments from the life of eagles. Inside, the reader will find scenes sure to captivate them and maybe even tempt them to try satisfying activity of photography.

Luis Mariano González, an biologist with an extensive career in birds of prey, is the author of the texts. In them he displays his extensive knowledge, and includes interesting facts regarding the latest research and current status of each species. Through its information, collected over decades by him and other Spanish and European scientists, the reader will get to know in detail each of Spain's eagles and the conservation projects implemented to safeguard the eagles and their ecosystems.

The photography is a cornerstone of this work and therefore the most impressive snapshots taken in recent years by great Spanish and European photographers have been gathered here. They include some extraordinary images of wild birds of prey in action. Many of the photos are taken in extreme weather conditions with freezing temperatures and in the remote mountains of the Iberian Peninsula. Each of them is the product of effort that often remains little appreciated, and the authors hope that these pages will serve to increase appreciation for the marvelous work the photographers participating in this book have done.
