About this book

Language: Spanish with English prologue

Longicornios de Cuba, Volume 1 includes photographs of both sexes from nearly all the species, in dorsal, ventral and lateral views, emphasizing the morphological characteristics of diagnostical value. It also includes determination keys for all taxa to make the verification of the determinations easier. It includes 129 species, 19 of them with systematical and distributional changes. For each species the following is included: its taxonomical status as well its types, morphological description, biology, geographical distribution (a map of Cuba with occurrence localities is provided), and all the data of the checked specimens, with a graph showing the monthly collecting data. This is the first of two volumes as a result of more than 15 years of collecting on the island. It also includes data on the revision of all Cuban insect collections since the 20th century. This is set to become the reference work on the Cerambycidae of Cuba.
