Among Hemiptera some species which belong to different farnilies are predators, such as Assassin-bugs (Reduviidae), Pirate-bugs (Anthocoidae), Damsel-bugs (Nabidae), all the members of water bug farnilies and a few Pentatomids, Lygaeids and Mirids. Of these a listed 35 species which are more predominant predators reported in India have been discussed in the present study for their predatory habits and, to allow identification, their morphological characteristics along with their photographs.
