Volume 47 of the Flora of the Pan-Himalaya is one of the first of the 50 volumes in the series, which will be published in approximately 80 parts. It includes five families (Aquifolaceae, Helwingiaceae, Campanulaceae,  Lobeliaceae, and Menyanthaceae), and treats 18 genera and 192 species, among which one genus (Himalacodon) and 80 species (42%) are endemic to the Pan-Himalayas.
