The Illustrated Flora of Nordic Mosses describes all mosses found in Fennoscandia. This was originally published as a 4-volume set, but volume 4 has gone out of print. The publisher is still offering the first three fascicles for sale.
It has been thirty years since the first fascicle of the Illustrated Moss Flora of Fennoscandia was printed. During this time several species have been added to the Fennoscandian flora. Few species have been reduced to varieties, but several varieties have been raised to species. Iceland, Jan Mayen and Svalbard (Bear Island + Spitzbergen) have now been included and many species from those areas, not known from other parts of Fennoscandia, are now treated.
Fasciscle 1 (1987) covers the families Fissidentaceae, Bryoxiphiaceae, Ditrichaceae, Archidiaceae, Dicranaceae, and Seligeriaceae; fascicle 2 (1990) the families Pottiaceae, Disceliaceae, Ephemeraceae, Funariaceae, Splachnaceae, and Schistostegaceae; and fascicle 3 (1993) the families Bryaceae, Rhodobryaceae, Mniaceae, Cinclidiaceae, and Plagiomniaceae.
