About this book

Language: Russian

This illustrated Manual to the zooplankton and zoobenthos of the inland waters of European Russia can be used for aquatic ecosystems research. It can also be used for training and self-learning by students of biological disciplines. In accordance with the division of biological specialties in hydrobiology, it consists of two volumes devoted to the analysis of the species composition of zooplankton and zoobenthos. Volume 1 includes a short description of morphology, biology, methods of collecting and study of zooplankton, and iconographic keys to organisms that can be found in samples of lake zooplankton, as well as the recommended literature. In particular, sections provide important information on the morphology, biology and identification keys to major groups of aquatic plankton: amongst others rotifers, cladocera, crayfish, copepods, and mysids. Keys allows the identifcation of most organisms to species level. The book is intended for students of zoology, limnology, and aquatic toxicology.
