About this product

Please note: this software was written and designed before 64-bit operating systems (OS) were introduced. If you are running a 64-bit OS, such as a 64-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows 7, this software may not function. Please note that suppliers do not accept returns of sealed software that has been opened, and NHBS can therefore not refund such items. If in doubt, please contact customer services or the software supplier to enquire after compatibility before purchasing this item.

This CD-ROM is part of the range of Eutaxa Electronic Key & Reference Collection; specialist taxonomic software for biological scientists that provides precise documentation of most species known from a certain geographic region. Eutaxa offers a complete virtual reference collection of a specific organism group, which can be used to compare morphological characteristics of species in any number and combination.

This CD-ROM offers a versatile application for the identification of last instar larvae of the order Trichoptera (class Insecta) from Central Europe, up to family level. 22 families are documented precisely and numerous illustrations of relevant morphological characters can be queried from an extensive picture data base and compared with each other. Unlike other products of the Eutaxa series, the images are not ciphered and the software is not protected by a hardware dongle, so that it can be installed and used on an arbitrary number of PCs.

Included applications (see the series record for more information): D-Key, Query Key, Gallery, Morphology, Ecology, Product Info.

System requirements:
The software is compatible with Windows operating systems XP, Vista, Windows 7 and 8, 32- or 64-bit. Please note that the programs cannot be installed on Windows 10, because the older version of the Microsoft SQL-Server is not accepted by the new Microsoft operating system! A newer version of the Eutaxa software will be available in a few years. In the meantime, users of Windows 10 may run the program on a virtual machine with XP, Vista, Windows 7 or 8.
