The Pettersson M500-384 USB Ultrasound Microphone allows to you to make high quality, full spectrum recordings of bat calls with a wide range of computers, tablets and smart phones. Like the original M500 the M500-384 is housed in a slim, durable aluminium case and uses the same advanced electret microphone technology as the D500X. It is supplied with a removable directional horn, so that recordings can be directional or omnidirectional to increase flexibility.
The M500-384 is an excellent choice for making ultrasound recordings from your smart phone and can be used with a range of operating systems including: Android, Linux (Ubuntu), OS X, iOS and Windows. Similarly you can use any sound recording software that supports recording at 384kHz, for more information on recording software please consult the user manual.
The M500-384 is supplied with a mini-USB cable. In order to connect the M500-384 to a device with a micro USB jack an adapter with an OTG USB micro plug is required.
For use with iOS, the M500-384 requires a lightning to USB camera adapter and an app such as Ultrasonic Analyzer.
