About this book

Language: German

Small mammals (e.g. martens, weasels, mice and shrews) are of utmost importance to ecosystems, in particular as an important food source for birds of prey and predatory mammals. The author explains both the peculiarities and strategies of the individual small mammal species, as well as the larger-scale operations within a population, and the interaction between species. She also answers the question of whether current conservation efforts with respect to communities of native small mammals, some of which are considered as putative pests, should be bolstered.
