About this book

Soulful, enigmatic, graceful, beautiful – so many words come to mind when describing a horse, but no word can capture the true essence of a horse quite like an exquisite photograph.

Acclaimed photographer Bob Tabor has spent a lifetime photographing horses and creating stunning images that are powerful, sophisticated, and emotionally resonant. Horse/Human: An Emotional Bond is a testament to his profound understanding of and respect for these magnificent animals. Tabor's photographs are widely admired for both their emotional power and for his signature minimalistic style, which brings into focus such details as the beautiful arch of a neck, a forelock framed by inquisitive eyes, or a curved jawbone.

The colours and composition effortlessly complement the photographs; a brilliant red bridle captured on a brown and white horse; an ethereal white horse flecked with grey prancing away into the distance; or the close-up of a curvature of a horse's spine, which is evocative of a sculpture. Working in the animals' natural environments, Tabor captures the essential personality of each horse in a manner typically reserved for portrait photography. His connection with the horses is evident through the horses' soulful expressions. His uniquely poignant photographs invite viewers to connect with these majestic animals, making Horse/Human vibrant with understanding between animal and man.
