About this book

Language: English

Nijhum Dweep National Park, which supports the largest wetland bird species community of the country, is one of the best National Parks in Bangladesh. The park is notable because it contains the world's largest population of Indian Skimmer (Rynchops albicollis). Unfortunately diverse anthropogenic factors are gradually impacting the wilderness of this pristine National Park. This book is the outcome of the biodiversity monitoring by the Wildlife Research Group, Department of Zoology, Jahangirnagar University and implemented by Bangladesh Forest Department. This book will be used by conservationists, both amateur and professionals, as well as researchers, throughout the country. The main objective of this book is to register the biodiversity of Nijhum Dweep National Park with photographic documents which can also be used as a pictorial field guide. Present conservation issues affecting this National Park are also included which may be helpful for the preparation of management plans.
