About this book

Language: English

In India very scant information is available about the taxonomy of Myxomycetes. Major contributions on taxonomy of Myxomycetes have been by past authors from North-East India and South-East India. Very meagre research work on taxonomy of Myxomycetes has been done in Maharashtra. Realising the importance of taxonomy of myxomycetes exhaustive research was carried out in the districts of Western Maharashtra along the Western Ghats. The text of this book is divided in to a number of chapters such as Introduction, Materials and Methods, Review of Literature, Systematic position and Classification, Taxonomy, Distributions, Variations, Summary and Conclusion. A systematic analysis of 81 species belonging to 23 genera and 9 families has been provided. At the end an exhaustive bibliography has also been given.
