About this book

Language: German

Norbert Rosing is considered Germany's Arctic and polar bear expert. During two decades he crossed the Canadian Arctic and Spitsbergen on countless journeys to reflect on the fascination of this magnificent habitat. He spent many years in Churchill / Manitoba, "the polar bear capital", to document the lives of these animals. His pictures of a mother polar bear with her cubs went around the whole world. But also rare footage of arctic foxes, arctic hares or earless seals contributed to his fame.

This book represents the quintessence of his nearly 50 trips in the Canadian north and gathers the best shots from the period 1988-2007. In addition to the iconic images, this monumental illustrated volume, measuring 38 × 33 cm, also presents previously unreleased material in excellent quality: fascinating documents of a photographic adventure, and breathtaking images of a disappearing world whose magic can be difficult to resist. This is a tribute to one of the best wildlife and nature photographer in Germany and an unparalleled collection of his best pictures.
