This is the first systematic summary of Chinese Trepostomata, an extinct order of bryozoans. Systematic classifications are determined, compared and discussed, and the latest international stratigraphic tables have been attached with precise stratigraphic information. The book is divided into seven chapters, the first six chapters introduce the biology of mosses, including a general introduction, a brief history, morphological structure, palaeontology, sheet production and stratigraphic distribution. These species of moss are now extinct, but have the same ecological characteristics as existing mosses, so ecological theory is used for reference and comparison. For 416 species, subspecies or varieties (including 3 new species) classification and descriptions are introduced. Classification and description of mutant species in high taxonomic groups of bryozoans are introduced, which belong to 57 genera, 13 subfamilies, 7 families and 3 subspecies. At the same time, a detailed characterization, comparison and discussion of genera is given.

国变口目苔虫》为我国变口目苔虫的首次系统总结，对我国2010年及其以前出版的古生代除寒武纪之外的各纪和中生代三叠纪的变口目属种按最新的系统分类进行了厘定、比较和讨论，并按最新的国际地层表附以精确的地层信息。全书分为七章，前六章介绍了变口目苔虫生物学概论，包括一般介绍、研究简史、形态构造、古生态、薄片制作和地层分布。变口目苔虫现已灭绝，但它和现生苔虫有如出一辙的生态特性，因而《国变口目苔虫》也引用了国外学者有关现生苔虫的生态理念，以供借鉴、对照。另外，制片技术也是变口目苔虫研究中不可或缺的。第七章系统分类和描述介绍了变口目在苔虫动物高级分类群中的位置及其分类现状，共修订、厘定和描述了416种、亚种或变种和未定种（含3新种），分属于57属、13亚科、7科、3亚种；同时对属和属级以上分类单元的特征鉴别、比较和讨论以及时代分布作了详细的描述。
