New York's environment is in jeopardy. The air is heavy with ozone smog; the water is becoming contaminated with sewage discharge, road salts, agricultural runoff, and acid rain; and unless New Yorkers recycle more and decrease their rubbish output, disposal capabilities will soon be outstripped. This call to action is a first attempt to give some shape to the debate on environmental issues in the city in the 1990's.
