About this book

This monograph, started by Leslie Tucker, but left unfinished after he passed away in 1979, was finished by William Montevecchi. This study of the Newfoundland avifauna focuses on the historical aspects of its ornithology, from utilization by prehistoric inhabitants starting in 3000 B.C., early written accounts of birds from Mediaeval times, through to historical and contemporary ornithological study.
