The biology of the three families is summarized. Keys are presented to the families of British Cynipoidea and to the genera and species of the three families. The keys to species are annotated with details of distribution and host information. A check list of the British Charipidae (4 genera and 18 species), Ibaliidae (1 genus and 2 species) Figitidae (12 genera and 25 species) is provided, together with a glossary, 97 text figures, and an extensive list of references.
