About this book

A stunning and richly detailed book which contains illustrations and descriptions of more than 600 species of fruit within the Queensland tropical jungle, many of which appear in book form for the first time. The illustrations have been provided by the renowned artist, William T Cooper. All fruits are drawn to life-size, at different stages of development, and from different angles - thus making it easier for the reader to identify rain forest trees, shrubs and vines. There are also detailed sketches to aid leaf identification, as well as a short text which lists plant distribution, fruiting season and distinctive botanical features. All plants featured can be found in Queensland's tropical north, In addition, more than 100 species can also be found in New South Wales, and 75 species occur in the Northern Territory.
