About this book

Illustrations by Dan Brown.
This work presents the first thorough review of Paraguay's avifauna since 1940, summarizing the status and distribution of the country's birds, and the factors affecting them. An annotated checklist summarizes the status, habitats, and relative abundance in seven geographical regions for the 645 species recorded for Paraguay. Distributional notes are provided for the more unusual bird records, taxonomic notes are included for species whose taxonomic status requires clarification, and additional information is provided for species regarded as hypothetical. All entries are indexed for common and scientific names.
A Spanish language edition of the book is in preparation. We are recording advance orders.
