About this book

This report presents the results of work by the DTI to update the Government's projections of future energy demand and energy-related carbon dioxide emissions. The three main uses of the projections are: to monitor whether the UK is on course to meet its existing international commitments to limit C02 emissions; to inform debate on possible future commitments particularly in the context of the first Conference of Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate (Berlin April 1995); and to monitor the general development and direction of energy markets, for example, as a background against which to view the potential future role of nuclear power in the UK.

Contents

The Modelling Process; Assumptions; Final User Demand Projections; The Electricity Supply Industry; Primary Energy Demand; C02 and S02 Emissions.
