Locust plagues can cause great damage to crops over a wide area. The references in this work are in two sections. The first relates to field populations in upsurge and decline years, and contains some 440 references. The second includes approximately 40 theoretical and analytical papers on phase-change theory, population dynamics analyses, and field studies reporting desert locust gregarization in recession and plague years.
