By: Bernard d'Abrera
224 pages, 40 col plates [800 photos]
The first major work in more than fifty years on the butterflies of this Indian Ocean island. Despite the anachronistic title, it is a modern treatment, covering all the known true butterflies and skippers, some 234 species in all. The work is based on the collections of the British Museum (Natural History), and the text is written around the author's personal experiences of the fauna during the years 1952-1956.
