A much-needed photographic guide to the Indian avifauna. It is intended as an introduction to the region's birds, with descriptions of over 500 species, and colour photographs of 284. Each species account includes description, food, voice, range and habitat. There are brief introductory chapters on the Indian avifauna and its history, and a chapter on extinct and vanishing species.
