Produced by ECCB (the European Committee for the Conservation of Bryophytes), this work is split into three parts. The first provides an introduction to European bryophytes, a synopsis of the main bryophyte habitats, and a background to legislation for their conservation in Europe. The second part comprises the full European bryophyte Red Data List, with detailed accounts of endangered, vulnerable and extinct species. The final section lists a selection of important bryophytes sites in Europe.
