Since the publication of The Natural History of Badgers in 1986, there has been a vast increase in our understanding of badger social behaviour, ecology and population dynamics. This book is a major revision of Neal's classic work, which aims to synthesise this extensive new knowledge and make it available to a wide audience. In addition to the revisions to the text, there are new illustrations, many in colour, and a new chapter on bovine tuberculosis. The 2004 edition is a rejacketed edition of the previous 1996 edition.
