Brown-cheeked Hornbill Bycanistes cylindricus, Copper-tailed Glossy Starling Lamprotornis cupreocauda, Western Wattled Cuckoo Shrike Campephaga lobata, Rufous-winged Illadopsis Trichastoma rufescens and Nimba Flycatcher Melaenornis annamarulae, were observed at least once in areas of planted commercial forest trees.

Baseline data on the daily and seasonal occurrence, moult and breeding are presented for bird species in Taï National Park, the largest block of intact and protected West African forest.

A comparison of the avifauna of natural forest, forest plantations, and degraded forest shows that the avifauna of older forest plantations (greater than 20 years of age) resembles natural forest, but the avifauna of younger forest plantation supports an assemblage of birds more typical of farm bush.
