About this book

Concise, non-technical introduction, covering desertification, deforestation, wetland management, biodiversity, climatic change, air pollution, impact of cities on climate and hydrology, erosion, salinisation, waste disposal, sea level rise, marine pollution, coral reef degradation and aquaculture.

Few readers of this journal, we may hope, will be unfamiliar with Andrew Goudiea s books on the human impact during the last 100 years or so, with an emphasis on the present day rather than the historical picture ... a The Earth Transformeda forms an excellent way of introducing students in many different courses to this highly vital topic.
