About this book

The main themes covered in the symposium on which this book is based were: land applications and environmental monitoring; data calibration, preprocessing and validation; atmosphere, hydrology and global change; marine and inland waters; and snow and ice. The symposium was followed by a specialist workshop on satellite meteorology and hydrology with invited overview papers followed by contributed papers on themes of transpiration, hydrological modelling and energy balance, atmospheric gases and aerosols. These papers are also included in this volume, which aims to illustrate the progress in the use of the latest sources of space data for our better understanding of dynamic environmental processes over land, sea and the atmosphere.
