It desl systematically with the history and commerical importance of each fruit, the origin, early development of cultivation, regional characteristics, breeding objectives and fruit traits such as colour, shape and disease resistance. Volume one deals with temperate fruits, volume two looks at nuts, while volume three discusses subtropical and tropical fruits. Each volume is also available individually.
