This methodological guide is aimed at wetland managers and decision makers who wish to establish programmes to monitor their wetlands. It details logical steps to be taken in planning a wetland monitoring programme, and includes guidelines for the selection of appropriate indicator parameters to monitor particular problems. The results of a number of pilot studies and test applications are included, together with a bibliography.
