About this book

Language: French, also available in English

One of the methodologies developed under the MedWet project concerns Mediterranean wetland inventory. This subproject was undertaken jointly by the Instituto da Conservação da Natureza (ICN) of Portugal and Wetlands International, together with the assistance of a number of other agencies and partners.

The MedWet inventory work aimed to assess the status of existing wetland inventories in the Mediterranean region in order to identify the gaps and review the adequacy of the methods used, and to prepare a standard methodology for carrying out mventories of Mediterranean wetlands.

The MedWet Inventory Methodology includes a Manual for Mediterranean wetland inventory and a suite of publications on separate but linked tools, which allow wetland mventories to be conducted at a number of difterent levels. The whole methodology can be found in the set ot five volumes

Volume 1 explains the inventory process and provides a basic introduction to each of the inventory tools.
