About this book

Published by the Ural State University, this book is a major study of the region's lepidopteran fauna. The main body consists of short articles on more than 400 species of butterflies known or once reported from the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East of Russia. Each article gives Latin name, geographic distribution with maps, details of habitat, life history and behaviour, and key identification features. There are indices of foodplant genera of the larvae, Russian names, and latin names, plus an Appendix of morphological details of male genitalia of the genera with hardly readable wing pattern. In Russian throughout.
