About this book

Contains taxonomic revisions of four families (Caesalpiniaceae, Geitonoplesiaceae, Hernandiaceae, and Lowiaceae) for Malesia, i.e. the area covering the countries Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea. This volume continues its page numbering from Volume 12, part 1.

For all families, genera and species are described and annotated, and there are keys to genera and species. Caesalpiniaceae contains 25 indigenous genera and 8 genera with only introduced species. Geitonoplesiaceae has only two monotypic genera. Hernandiaceae, as accepted here, consists of four genera of which three occur in Malesia. Lowiaceae, finally, contains only the genus Orchidantha with about 10 species, 6 of which occur in Malesia.
