About this book

In 1988, The Danish Technical Research Council decided to support a four year research programme on sludge dewatering. The ambition was to establish a more scientific basis for improved sludge management; thereby supplementing an already existing and relatively advanced wastewater treatment knowledge and technology; and make it possible to optimize the entire wastewater treatment system, including both wastewater and sludge treatment. In order to place the programme in an international context, it was decided at the same time to organize an international conference in Denmark on the theme; "Wastewater Sludge Dewatering". These proceedings are the results of this conference, held in Rebild near Aalborg from June 29 to July 1, 1992.
