The first part of the volume 5 contained descriptions, illustrations, synonymy and dates on geographic distribution and ecology for representatives of the subfamilies Serrulininae, Alopiinae and Mentissoideinae of the clausiliids molluscs from the territory former USSR. In total, described 36 species with many subspecies and forms from these three subfamilies. As a result of analysis of the original descriptions, examination of type material and additional material for rare and poorly known species taxonomic position and synonymy was revised.
