An excellent photographic tour de force. The book is structured in five sections so as to lead the reader on a journey through the habitats of the forests, from river to caves, and up to the high mountain forests. The wealth of animal and plant life is documented, together with the people for whom the forest is home. The text is authoritative and scientifically correct, yet accessible to layman and scientist alike, whilst the numerous colour photographs are breathtaking.
