A checklist of the Lepidoptera of Romania. The main part of the book are tables covering all 4096 species known with indications of their occurrence in each districts. Also indicated is the red data status for Romanian Macrolepidoptera and finally if a species is recorded from 1850 to 1900, from 1901 to 1980 or from 1981 to 2001.

Also a list of 135 species deleted incl. comments. Further 140 pages with comments to the species in the checklist.

Brief introduction. One page English abstract. Index to scientific names. The information in the checklist is based on literature, the material preserved in museums and private collections, and on data provided by Romanian lepidopterists. All in all an important contribution to the European Lepidoptera literature that should be of interest for any serious student of European Lepidoptera.
