Introduces readers to the wide variety of mostly native plants found on Fogo and Change Islands, off the northeast coast of Newfoundland. However, the title could encompass all of eastern Newfoundland, as the plants described in this book are also the standard plants found in areas of Newfoundland west of Deer Lake. The main plants not covered in this guide are those primarily restricted to limestone regions of Newfoundland, which includes parts of the west coast as well as the Great Northern Peninsula.

Describing nearly 200 species of plants, primarily the natives with a few of the more common roadside or lawn `weeds' of European origin. The guide provides the common name of the plant as well as local Newfoundland and Labrador common names. Beautifully illustrated with more than 200 spectacular photographs this book offers vistors to Fogo Island a beautiful keepsake, as well as a practical reference for those interested in exploring the islands natural wonders.
