About this book

Language: German

When Swiss naturalista founded its national park in the early 20th century, they had a vision: sealed off from human influence, nature should restore to own original nature. This intention was radically different from the US national park idea. Not recreation, but research was the primary purpose of the national park. The concept was innovative and influenced the design of protected areas far beyond Switzerland. Wildnis Schaffen is the first comprehensive history of the Swiss National Park, from the early years before the First World War to the 21st century.

Summary in German:
Jahrhundert.
